Might and Magic and Halo 3 are the Xbox 360 Games with Gold for October
Microsoft's popular Games with Aureate program for the Xbox 360 has been a pop if slightly controversial program. Each month, Xbox Live Gold subscribers receive two free downloadable Xbox 360 games to keep forever. On the other hand, the games have largely been several years erstwhile, prompting negative comparisons with Sony's Playstation Plus program and its much larger and newer array of gratuitous Playstation iii games (which players tin't keep if their subscriptions lapse).
This month's Games with Gold include a new…ish Xbox Live Arcade game and a fairly former retail release that nevertheless holds some appeal. Starting time up, Might and Magic: Disharmonism of Heroes from Ubisoft is gratis for the first half of the month, starting today. From Oct 16-31, Microsoft'southward own Halo 3 (one of the first Games with Gold announced dorsum in June) will finally be free.

Halo 3 – Gratuitous from October 16-31
Xbox 360 – 5.7 GB – Xbox.com Store Link
Halo three was the first entry in the pop series of science fiction-themed start-person shooters for the Xbox 360, released all the mode back in 2007. The game's plot involves the alien Covenant race's attack on globe, the cease of the Homo-Covenant War, and the final confrontation with the vicious Flood parasites. An heady setup, though the plot itself jumps effectually too much to tell an effective story.
The tertiary Halo introduced several series mainstays - most notably 4-histrion online co-op (ii-player separate-screen is all the same supported). Cooperative play goes a long way towards alleviating the problems with level design which still persisted at this betoken in the series. The Forge mode first appeared hither as well, allowing players to customize maps and share them online. And of grade, the mainstay sixteen-player online competitive multiplayer is on hand.
Halo iii has since been superseded by two proper sequels, Halo: Reach and Halo iv. But players who oasis't tried the series all the same volition finally have the proper excuse thanks to the Games with Gilded programme. I expect the multiplayer community should be reinvigorated, so make sure you hop online and give information technology a endeavour!
